a new trick

Gwen often likes to pull out the plug and hold it up to show me that she has removed my favorite device, and then she hangs on to it as if taunting me that she will not have it put back in. neener neener neener!! Remember to look through the archives for more fun!!

our little home

James logged on the blog and reminded me that nobody has seen where we live so here is a sneek peek. If you want to see the rest of it you will have to come and visit us. The pool is included in your trip. so starting at the bottom of the photos, here is the kitchen and it links on to the laundry area. There is also a little desk built in for a little powerbook for Lonna and Gwen to do their business. (so there are the bottom three photos). Next is the dining room where for those of you who know us we have eaten there a good five or six times. The next two are part of the living area and that is where the real work takes place. For us that is Movies!!! Then there is Gwens room, I could only show you part of it because the majority of it is James' office and he often works in his pajamas...if you know what I mean. The last ones are of our room and the bath that is attached. It has the closet just off the bath. Well thanks for taking time for a little real estate tour we hope that you come and see the rest.

a boy or girl?

James and I have been having problems with people calling Gwen a boy. A lot! She can have bows in her hair or be wearing all pink and people still call her a him. We are going to try to fix that by making it more aparent. I hope.
Today I was able to go shopping with Tricia, Tannie, and Jillian, and while we were out I found the cutest little outfits for Gwen. This one that she is wearing has a whole bunch of little fruits all over the top and little ruffle sleves. The bottoms are red with small stitching and a ruffle bottom.

Trent's Birthday Party

On Sunday we attended a little birthday party for Trent's 26th. We had an amazingly yummy cake, made by Tricia of course, that was multi-chocolate and raspberry filled. I know that my mouth is watering now just thinking about it. Sp here is Tricia deciding how to cut the cake, and then there is Gwen exausted after the party.

Just a little cat nap

We played so hard that I set Gwen down for a minute and when I came back to check on her she was sound asleep. That is how hard it is to be four months old.

sno cone time

On Saturday we went to get sno cones and Gwen fell asleep on the way there, however she did wake up in time to have some fun at the sno cone place. After that we went to have some great hamburgers with Tannie and Dan and Austin.

peek-a-boo Gwen

Gwen is playing around with the couch pillows and she is sitting up. Hooray!!!

The root of the drool

We think that Gwen is teething. She has an enormous amount of drool and she has now started to gum all the little toys that she plays with. This is in addition to her hands and my shoulder and hands and anything else that she can get her mouth on. It is messy but it is still pretty dang cute.

mom time

I have to say that one of my favorite perks of being a mom is when Gwen falls asleep and she looks so innocent and perfect. That is my favorite little mom moment so far. Can you see that sweet little face?

friends at the pool

Gwen has met lots of new friends at the pool. She and her new buddies are here laying out, taking a break from their everyday stresses. Its so nice to just take a little time for ones self. This picture features (front) Brooklyn Adams (middle) Gwen Barlow (back) Simone Romriell. both Brooklyn and Simone are just two weeks younger than Gwen. And Simone and Brooklyn are just a day apart. So she has a lot of babies that are right around her age that are in our complex. It is really fun because they are all doing the same thing and it is fun to see all of them discovering their little hands and growing like weeds.

grandma Beryl

We wanted to celebrate Grandam Beryl's birthday however we are almost worlds apart, so we want you to know that we love you and miss you lots. So happy Birthday and we hope that it was a fun one.

fun in the car...

We have found new and really fun ways to entertain ourselves in the car...and the toys are just the beginning.

swimming with dad

Its so nice to have James around, just so that one of us is always there to snap a little photo of the girl of our dreams. Gwen is talking like crazy and we can't seem to get enough of it. She is playing with the toys that we have for her and she just wears herself out trying to be grown up. She will just tucker herself out playing and moving about all day long. It is so much fun. It is hard to tell but she might just turn out to be a little red head, she is having more days of red hair than blonde. It is a surprise that is waiting to happen and she just keeps us guessing.

Mountian climbing in Austin

On Saturday we were able to take in some sites in Austin. Russel and Jillian invited us to go on a hike to Mt. Bonell. ( I don't know if I spelled that correctly.) James and I were prepared in our hiking shoes, and pants, however we were pretty surprised when we arrived and it was 105 man made rock steps. Everyone else was wearing flip flops and shorts, so it seems that we still have quite a bit to learn about Texas. We did have some shaved ice though and it reminded us of Logan. It was pretty funny, the shaved ice place had the exact same sign that the ones in Logan have, even down to the same font. It was like they were owned by the same people. Gwen is doing a lot better now that she is on an antibiotic. She weighs 15 lb. 10 oz. she is really starting to like her toys and has a lot of fun interacting with James. I know that James is really excited about that, he loves to play with her and we have been really lucky that he has had the time to spend with her since we have moved out here. She really likes to play in the water with dad. We hope that eveyone had a great Father's Day. Because we sure do love our dads.

just one of the animals at the zoo.

This is Gwen riding a stuffed animal at Tricia's house. It was one of the few times that she was quiet and not sleeping. Gwen is now a whopping 15 pounds and she has some of the cutest cheeks that I have ever seen. Hands are the big thing right now at our house. she has discovered that she has two little things that are attached to her wrists and she wants to put them both in her mouth at the same time. This litte adventure adds to the amount of drool that she already leaves everywhere. She also wants to stand up all the time, she has the strongest little legs and she can push herself up if you even just barely hold her hands. And she think that it is really funny. And we love that, we pretty muc do anything for a little smile, even if it means that we look absolutely foolish, but its okay we are parents.

daddy's little girl

Sometimes it seems to the world like Gwen is constantly throwing a tantrum, but this is the little angel that we get to see when she is all tuckered out and just wants to watch a little t.v. with dad. Gwen happens to like the crime solving type of shows just like James. She also likes to stay up late like dad too. We are lucky that she happens to like the water and being in the pool and anything outside, it helps to tire her out so that she is ready to wind down a bit sooner, now if only that changed James' bedtime too.

a day at the pool

After a good swim Gwen and Simone took some time to lay out and both took a little nap on the lawn chairs. The girls are only two weeks apart and they are so much fun. They both enjoy playing in the water, showing off their swimsuits, and hanging out poolside in the afternoons. I really enjoy having Jillian and Simone so close to us, it is neat that the girls are able to have someone to play with. Swimming with them is lots of fun and with the pool just a hop skip and a jump away all I can say is bring on the summer sun.

a walk on the wild side...

This is Gwen after we moved to Texas! Nice legs.

a few moments in Winnie's life

This is Gwen as a Utahn'.....

getting lost in traffic...

I feel that you can only truly find yourself when you end up lost in a new city in the middle of rush hour, but the part that is really defining is when you have a sweet little baby, who ends up crying and screaming letting you know that you are actually frustrated and powerless, and still lost. I would like to thank the city of Austin for this little adventure, also the guy at H.E.B for the directions, and the woman that I stopped on the street for her helpful directions. I have to say that after that little excursion I thought that I would never drive again while living here, however that has passed and I am glad to say that it has helped a ton to try again. So this is us in Austin, sunburned and a little lost. But happy to be here.
