a mover and a shaker

This kid can't sit still...well she can't sit, but she can't stay still either. She is always on the move. Within a two minute period while I was taking her picture she was turned upside down and on her stomach and in and out of the toys. It is so much fun. We really get our excercise.

movie buddies

Have you ever seen cuter movie buddies that this? Gwen often lends her opinions to James and his movies. They love to watch movies together.

babies,babies,babies

Congrats to Tannie and Dan Smith! On July 25th at 11:48 am Tannie delivered a healthy and perfect little boy....introducing Logan Zachary Smith. We paid a little visit to Tannie and held Logan he is only 8.8 lbs. and 19 in. he seems like a little feather compared to giant GWEN! So Austin was such a good older brother and he was giving Logan little kisses and here he is helping me out by holding Gwen for the picture. Look at all those little babies. I am happy to announce that Dan is also doing well after a little fainting spell during Tannie's labor...but he is recovering and right back at Tannie's side. Lucky little Tannie only had a 2 1/2 hour labor. She said that it was much better the second go around...we shall see. Anyway it was really eventful and pretty dang exciting.

our flower girl

On Saturday we wanted to go to a swimming place called Barton Springs, but it was overcast and there was a little bit of rain. so we went to have lunch and snow cones and then we came back here to play in our pool. Gwen did so good she stayed out with us the whole time just floating around. Dan showed us some of his skills from his swim team days, but Tannie beat him in a race...mind you she could have a baby any second! James tried to drown me, but luckily I was able to escape with just my life. Russell practically burned his legs off in the hot tub, and I think that hot is an understatement, really it was scalding! And to top off all of the excitement Austin had an accident as we were getting ready to leave. WOW that was eventful. Oh and for those of you who were there I hear that Taylor Michelle is just fine. Thanks for playing at the pool with us.

pioneer day celebration

For Pioneer Day....well actually we did a celebration on the Friday before, and Tricia and Allen invited us to this great Old West park, it was really neat they had a big BBQ style dinner and ice cream, a place to get your photo taken, a petting zoo (we got there too late for that one), archary games, western swing dancing (shown above), wagon rides, and fireworks. I am sure that I missed something, but needless to say there was a lot going on. We had some pictures taken but I will have to post those later because I need to scan them in. But here is Tricia and Tannie and Gwen dancing, Tannie is only 4 days away from having Logan. (the baby) and while they were entertaining Gwen James and I did a little flashback to our Snow College days and went dancing!!! It was really fun. I do have to say that I am a little out of practice though. Tricia was the baby holding queen, she even tackled two at a time with Gwen and Simone!

a dip in the pool

With the summer temp on the rise it sure is nice to have a pool around. Today Jillian let us try out her pool toy and Gwen really liked it. She fell asleep in it for a while and just floated around the pool as James and I played around, then when she woke us I pushed her around for a little bit and she just hung out. What a champ. I think that she really enjoys the pool now that she can play a little. Its a good thing that we had on sunscreen.

out door show

Saturday evening we attended a little out door production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. It was put on by an Austin summer theater in the park. As you can see it fills up fast. We had to get there pretty early to get a seat so we are waiting here and Gwen is cheering for the show to start. Sometimes she just gets a little impatient. This was a really fun event and it was FREE!! Yeah that is so great. We really do enjoy Austin it has been a lot of fun for us to spend time together and with family here. So we will continue to live here and try new things. That is right you heard what I said the Barlow's are branching out and trying a few new things...like BBQ's.

the smallest climber

Trent invited us to go climbing with him on Saturday and we went as spectators, as you can see here Gwen is sleeping peacefully in the stroller. Hands folded and all. She looks so timid and shy...however we know that she is really just as loud and crazy as we are.

a thinking kind of girl

Not only is Gwen learning new things every day, but she is also thinking in her sleep. I don't believe it gets better than that. But we already think that she is a genius.

time to eat...

Oh boy! She ate so much that it is starting to spill out of her mouth. It is getting easier to feed her the creral and I think that soon we might try some veggies!!!! She is getting rounder and rounder and we love it!!! We were thinking that she could double as santa for the holidays.

hide and peek!

This is a fun little game that we like to play in the morning when we are having a little tummy time, which has now been turned into roll over time. It is surprising that she can do it so fast, I can turn around and when I turn back she will be flipped around and playing in a split second. It is so great.

Gwen of the Jungle

Gwen, Gwen, Gwen of the jungle strong as she can be... She is a little animal and she plays so hard. Can you see the camoflauge Gwen? She playing so hard that she needed a little cat nap.

roll over, roll over....

Look at our fun little tummy trick. I was so happy to see that it was not just a one time trick she does it over and over and over...I guess that I can no longer set her down on the couch for just a second...she will be gone in that time.

Cooper Doo!!!

Kelly did you know that with your $100 purchase Cooper is yours for only $9.99!! I think that is a steal of a deal. What a fun little mascott!

celebrate with us

This was a little celebration for my birthday. It was lots of fun. We had dinner, a little treasure hunt and then we played Settlers of Catan. That is right we have found some addicts just like ourselves. Tricia made dinner and it was great and James gave me 101 reasons that he loves me, along with some other really great things. It really was a wonderful day.
