a new family member...

Today we took a little trip to buy some new clothes for Gwen and while we were out James found this little bear and he handed it to Gwen and she loved it. So since James is a sofite when it comes to Gwen he immediately said that we had to buy it. That dad he sure does give in so easily. Well it tures out that she really does love it and on the way home she gave it a love and then fell asleep. For those of you who know us, we named it kia. The newest member of our family. And Gwen's new cuddle friend. (and he really is soft)

the new Laurance of Arabia

This is all the new rage in Texas. Gwen started it and I am sure that it is going to catch on...any day now. I appologize for my looks, I had not yet tamed my wet hair...well that little turban is looking better and better for my own personal use. Great thinking Gwen, I wonder if I could get mine in a different color? Well I guess that we will have to rename her Gwen of Arabia. That is after all only a small change from Amelia.

Well Gwen is coming right along in her wrestling moves. James is currently in the process of teaching her the half Nelson...but it is more like the quarter Nelson at this point. A little more chub on those arms and we will be in business.

its my party and I'll cry if I want to.

Here is our favorite party girl!!! She loves a good fiesta, or shin-dig, well any kind of a get together she is all in. Here we have a little party with the Chick-fil-a cow. Just a little nibble. And the paper cup...well that is hours upon hours of entertainment. I think that she likes it more than most of her toys, and the best part is as soon as she devours it and leaves it for dead, I just toss the old and in with a shiny new one, oh how her little eyes light up. I think that will save me tons of money for gifts. Maybe I should compose a little ode to the paper cup.

its a bird, its a plane...

Is she a centaur? Is she part storm trooper? Or is she a dancer from the 80's? She is all of those things and so much more. We have a little game that we like to play and we needed to cover up her feet. So the best and funniest solution James' socks. It is so funny and I know that we get a bigger kick out of it but since she can't protest or run awaywe win. So tube sock legs she will have.

Here we have Gwen playing nice with Brooklyn Adams. They are both quite occupied with eating everything in sight. You may be wondering why Gwen in basically naked at someone else's home, well to make a long story short she made me change her clothes earlier in a little accident and at this moment she had recently thrown up all over me and her spare outfit. But the show must go on and within a few moments she was back to playing and I was still gross. Typical.

just another manic Monday

James is so great every Saturday he gives me the opportunity to sleep in!!! Yeah! So this past Saturday morning I could hear James and Gwen playing in the front room, but when I went out there this is what I found. Daddy daughter cat nap time. This just goes to show you how crazy and busy our Saturday mornings are, Oh you are wondering about the title, well it sounds quite dumb with Saturday in there so I figured a good explination would be alright too. The best part of this little picture is that they are practically in the same position, I can't show you James' legs because of his pajama bottoms but just look at Gwen and that is how James' legs are as well. They are a serious case of Father like Daughter.

hide and peek

It is fun to have a helper, but it is more fun to have someone that just wants to play games. I really am so surprised that anything gets done around here. Because we just play play play. As many of you know Gwen is getting so big! I have to say that it is really a treat for me to see her go through each stage of her development, I do feel very lucky. We are trying to practice being mobile, or crawling, but to tell you the truth not such a favorite of hers. She loves to stand and stand up next to things like the coffee table, so we wonder if her "all fours" will ever hit the ground. And untill they do she will continue to hitch a ride where ever she can, including sneeking in with the clean clothes.

little chick!!

Well you asked for them so here they are. Here is Gwen and she is tired of being in the Chicken suit already, we had been trying to make her smile for some time and she was getting fed up with us. So there are a few pictures in here where she is not the happiest camper in the bunch, but she is still the cutest chicken that I have ever met. It was at the moment that I purchased the costume that I was slightly jealous of Leslie being able to buy two cute costumes each year, then I remembered seeing Ryan try to juggle them on the web cam and I was not quite so jealous anymore. However I am sure that I will get my fill of costumes sooner or later when my kids want to dress as superheros everyday.

sink fishing

It was around 3:00 pm on a Thursday afternoon it was hot outside and not a breeze in sight, clearly it was time for some sink fishing. Now if you have never experienced sink fishing it consists of filling up the sink and adding random floating objects so that Gwen can reach in and attack them. It is quite amusing as she practices her skill, she will put her hand in and touch the bottom and wait for the object to float near her, then she will quickly snatch it with a little splash and the toy never saw her coming. A good way to kill a little afternoon time.

Halloween Hints

Today was a really fun and exciting day for Gwen and Simone...we went shopping and while we were out and about we happened upon Halloween costumes!! So here are some hints so that you can have a guess of what each of them will be. I have a lot more pictures so let me know if you would like to see them...however I must warn you that it will ruin the Halloween suprise. But they are adorable.

my coconut is empty

Here we are having a good ol' time when suddenly disaster strikes...the cup is EMPTY!! Well to begin with there was actually nothing in there but the face she was making was so funny it really was like the end of the world because there was nothing in the cup. Oh I love the drama that comes with each new event of child rearing....well maybe not love...well what am I saying I just love that Gwen is so dramatic, it makes for good pictures, video and entertainment. And that is what we are all about.

Foggy little day

This morning when I woke up it was the strangest day. It was really foggy outside but the weather channel was saying that it was going to be in the 90's? So I waited and waited and still by 8:30 am it was not clearing up so I snapped a few pics and by the time that I decided to do that it was lifting...naturally, so here is just a little peek at what it looked like as it was clearing up. I was really glad that I was not the one that had the commute. Sorry James. Just a side note that we are on the third floor and so it was a bit worse as you were actually on the road. And yes that is a trailor park behind our building...so what.

mis-matched boo-boo's

Monday the 11th we had the big 6 MONTH check up...even though we are almost 7 mo. We weighed in at the heavy weight champ status tiping the scales to 19 lbs. She is just over 26 in. tall and with three shots on the way she was the super trooper that we knew that she could be. Unfortunately for me the nurse gave her three really mis-matching band-aids...it was driving me crazy!! And that is a little insite to how I really am. But back to Gwen she didn't seem to mind too much. And she even gave us some smiles a little later on in the day. That is why we keep her.

J U M P !!!

This little girl is CRAZY about jumping. She will do it on your lap, she will do it on your back. She will do it in the crib, she will do it in a bib. She will do it for her mom. She will do it all day long. She will do it for her dad, she will do it when she's mad. She WILL do it all day long, that is why her legs are strong. Oh so strong.
