tricks for kids

Here we are at our ward Trunk-or-Treat. Gwen and I are trying our hand at the cake walk, but we didn't win. That is alright because I don't think I could have eaten another bite at that point. If you will look closely behind the Barlow's there is a really cute fish. The role of the fish is being played by Megan Frost and she is accompanied by her mom Kim. I love the little legs sticking out of Megan's costume.

Tannie joined us for a little tricking and a whole lot of running around and she brought Bob the builder (Austin) and a very good little pumpkin(Logan). Simone changed out of her ducky costume before I could snap a shot of her, so we will have to try that one again later.
Here we have a little chick that was busted eating the lotion bottle. Oops! She was getting a little tired of the costume by this point.

But not before we were able to take part in the fishing pond. Here James shows her how to do a perfect chicken cast and for all of her efforts she was rewarded with one of those little rubber sticky hands. I do believe that we found a different home for that one. I wanted to try our hand at the bobbing for apples but Gwen would not have been a very good candidate with only one tooth, oh well maybe we will just hold our own in the bathtub. So after a long day of scampering about the church house we took a tired and cranky, but really cute little chicken home. I do believe that trick-o-treating will have to be a quest for another year. Kudos to all the parents out there that take part in the festivities every single year, hats off to you. Mom and dad I don't know how you did it each year with so many of us to keep track of. But none the less thanks for doing it.

mini whinnie

Here we have a cute little girl in a mini skirt, and some really cute tights, that Gwen is not quite sure about. When we were out looking for clothes in her new size James spotted this little mini and said that we should get it, well I had no objections and so here she is quite trendy for an 8 month old. But it is so cute how could we resist?

pumpkin time

Kim and Michael Frost invited us over to carve pumpkins...Gwen was not too helpful, but she was still entertaining. James went for a white pumpkin and gave it a pac-mac theme and I chose a small pumpkin and used a disco ball for inspiration. It was a lot of fun and Kim even made us some carmel apples that were so yummy!!! Thanks Kim. The Frost's little girl Megan helped carve the perfect jack-o-lantern and she is my kind of girl, she didn't want to get her hands dirty. But she eventually gave in to the gushy innerds of the gourd and she was so cute, what a little trooper. This is just gearing us up for the big night.

Here kitty kitty

On our little outing we came across these darling little Cheetah ears and they only had two left. So we purchased them. As we strolled through the mall everyone around us made fun little comments about these two cute cats. Gwen didn't even mind wearing them...all day. I also have a really cute picture of her driving with the ears on, in my phone, but I didn't know how to add that on the blog, sorry.

driving lessons

I took a little trip to the mall with Summer Adams and Brooklyn, and I forgot that James had the stroller in his car so we rented one,it was like bumper cars for kids...minus the danger and actual bumping of cars. Gwen was really good in it, as a matter of fact I don't know who taught her to put her hands on the steering wheel but these pictures are right after I put her in and she is taking control of the situation like a pro.

big girl clothes

Have you ever seen a cuter pair of jeans? Here we have Gwen sporting a darling pair of boot cut jeans and some really cute pink mary jane shoes. I can hardly stand that she is growing up so fast, but at the same time I do love to dress her up. What can I say I have my own little dress up doll, but sometimes she does put up a fight. I guess that is only fair.

A cold little treat

On Sunday we were lucky enough to attend Uncle Allen's Birthday dinner and with Ryan and Leslie, and Grandma and Grandpa Honey, there were 15 of us in all, I'd say that is quite a few. So we spent the day catching up with family and visiting about everyone's trips to TX. On Monday Ryan and Leslie did a little shopping and James was able to take a half day, so we all had the chance to meet up and go for a little sno cone. Then we went and saw Barton Springs, the botanical gardens, and Part of Zilker park, most of it was still blocked off from the Rolling Stones concert the night before. We also took Ryan and Leslie to see the U T campus gift store so that they could find some gifts to take home, and to show them just how much pride there is out here. I think that they were able to get a good feel for the school spirit. For dinner that night we found our way to a little place called the Hula Hut and we were able to sit outside on the lake. That was really fun. After a few more stops we were back at our place and the nightly game between the sexes began, who would give in and say that it was time for bed first...not the women. We were prepared to go all night, right Leslie. On Tuesday we had to part ways and I am sure that Ryan and Leslie were excited to head back home to see the twins, but we were sad to see them go. But we hope that they had enough fun to at least make them consider coming back again.

Halloween Treats

Gwen was so excited to get some treats from grandma Barlow and she was too excited
to even pull the cookies out of the bag. And she was busted as shown here trying to eat the bag.

Film fest at the Barlow's

We are pretty lucky, Ryan and Leslie have come to stay with us for a little while. We are having the Austin film festivel here and so Ryan and Leslie took a crazy long drive to see what Texas is like. Oh and I am sure that they wanted to see what Gwen is up to these days as well. We had a little lunch break for some burgers and fries and Gwen showed us how to eat a straw. After lunch we went our seperate ways, james and ryan back to the world of films, and Leslie, Gwen and I were off for a little adventure of our own...the kind that
involves shopping...and driving around a bit. But it turned out to be a great day.
We also filled them up with a lot of BBQ and Root Beer.

welcome back brooklyn

Here we have Brooklyn and Gwen hanging out, playing with the toys, and a few little pats on the back. Brooklyn came over to play for a little bit on Wednesday afternoon. She showed us her teeth and told us some stories, and then took a little nap. Gwen loves to play with friends.

ho-hum Monday

So here we are reading the paper...well actually it is an ad for what else, clothes. And Gwen is pointing out to me the items that she likes. But it seems like just another typical day, but it is not! For all of you who know how I am in the luck department...which is non existant, today it appears that has changed. James and I just renewed our apartment for another 6 months, and while we were in that process the girl helping us told us that we would be entered into a drawing for renewing early. Naturally I was not expecting anything, however Monday afternoon a little note was slipped through our door saying that we had won, and we could pick up our prize in the office. I couldn't believe it, I Lonna who has never one a thing in her life (prize wise) had just won a portable DVD player!!!!! How crazy is that? I took my trusty side kick Gwen to the office to claim our prize, expecting them to say that there was a mistake or that I was too late and someone else already claimed it, but to my amazement when I walked it the girl there was really excited and said that she had my prize ready for me. And she brought it out and...It was real! I think that Gwen is my new lucky charm. So I guess that we will keep her around.

computer whiz

Here we are on a Saturday evening and James was doing something on the computer and Gwen kept trying to get to it. When we did put her next to it she reached out her hands and had them on the keys. She is one clever girl. And she is really drawn to the computers...it leaves no doubt who her father is. ( James, the answer is James)

sleep over

Gwen fell asleep on our bed while we were folding laundry....I guess that she didn't think that it was that exciting. But I think it is a good idea that she has a body guard...or maybe it is just a little watch dog? Well what ever she is using it for it is pretty cute.

chief chatterbox

This is Lonna secretly signing in from James' brand spanking new computer. Since he decided that he would tote my outside connection around with him, Gwen and I have infiltrated the office and set up blogger in here. That is the power that I am talking about. Anyways back to buiness, here we have the newest character in the house, Chief Chatterbox. We now wake up to her talking the next language that is going to catch on like Clingon, or Elvish. She loves this little blanket and so we want to say thanks to Mamma J. We think of you often. We are still trying to get a picture of the tooth but I have to say it is proving to be much more difficult than I had anticipated. But we will keep trying.

bubble toes

As you well know we love to sit in the sink. Gwen is a really good streacher, and so she was all over the bubbles in the sink. Yes she even attempted to eat them, and in the bottom picture decided that they were not so yummy. We also have a little white announcement to make, Gwen is sprouting a tooth these days but she is one tricky little hider, and so we have attempted to get pictures, but she has won thus far. We will continue in our adventure and attempts to find the hidden treasure.
