For our Memorial Day weekend it was a bit of a hit and miss with the rain, but on Monday it was warm enough to bust out the pool toys. We hit the perfect window to go to the pool and so we did. Gwen was not so sure that she wanted to be in the water so she took some time to get warmed up, thanks to a patient and fun dad she came around.

Megan was trying to help her to get the most out of the day at the pool. I think that she gave her some pointers for a good time.

Here she is getting warmed up to the water, James makes it look so easy.

Lets try a little backstroke...

And a really fun game of fetch the water bomb is the lucky winner! That's the girl we know.

Mom is obviously not quite as fun, but she went for it, even if it was for just a little while. After this we put her back in the boat floatie and she sang row row row your boat as we pushed her around. We are really glad that the clouds broke long enough to have a swim, but I hope that the summer weather decides to show up pretty soon. I feel like we need a whole bunch more practice at the pool this year.

There's nothing like a pool to take a family dip in on Memorial Day. Looks like fun, and Gwen is adorable.
Once at Snow College Lonna and I saw a grade school class walk by on a field trip. There was one little girl who had a totally matching/coordinating outfit right down to the bows and shoes. There was another girl who seemed to have dressed herself and done her own hair, and probably bathed herself come to think of it. We noted that the coordinating girl was what Lonna looked like as a child (and Lonna probably did dress herself well), and the umkempt miss matched girl was what I looked like. I'm afraid (for my sake) that our kids are going to be the same way. Gwen is always looking so cute in all her photos and her hair never seems to be coming out of their ponies. My little Gracie picks out most of her own clothes and her hair is usually wrecked before we're out the door.
You have a beautiful family!
What a ball. My kids love swimming too. Way to go--looks like a perfect Memorial Day activity!
It appears it takes JAMES to get Gwen out of her shell when it comes to swimming...See, we knew there was an Olympian in there! Maybe kiddie pools are a little too amateur for Gwen. She is lucky you are able to get out as often as you want to practice laps!! Still love that swimsuit. :0)
