the last hoorah!

This is a little place called Inks Lake. We have one last weekend with our friends the Frost's before they move and so we wanted to make it a good one. Here James shows Gwen that the water, though a bit cloudy is still safe.
Gwen is not so sure that James was telling the truth, but she did warm up to the lake later on.
Megan and Gwen need a little snack to keep them going while swimming.
Here are the Frost's. One big happy family. We ate at Mike's favorite BBQ place called Cooper's
Here is the crew setting up the tent. No James and I did not camp, I know that some of you were starting to worry that we had guts.
Now this is so funny. Right when we arrived at the campsite Gwen was ready to make a fire. She started to get some sticks, so I asked her to show me her sticks and this is the surprised face that I was given. I think that we will call her wilderness Gwen.
She found the perfect size rock for pondering. And the stuff all over her face is a mixture of dirt, soot, and powdered doughnuts.
It was such a fun day and Gwen didn't want to take a nap for fear that she might miss something. So by the time we were getting ready to go she was trying to keep awake by the fire. Within five minutes of being in the car on the drive home she was down for the count. What a good little trooper. Thanks to the Frost's for showing us the Austin ropes. We wish you well in D.C.

just a little too big

Gwen found one of James' shirts and so naturally she decided to see if it fit her...not so much. But it was really funny to see her try to walk in it. She looks like a mini Yoda in the first picture. Oh how silly.

eye spy

This past weekend James took a little trip to the eye doctor. Well I think that Gwen was the one having the best time while we were there. Here she is sporting a pair of the protectors that they give you after dilating your eyes. She looks pretty intense.
The best part about her wearing these is that she can't have a regular face. She is concentrating so hard on keeping them on that she looks mean, or like she is angry. And if she tries to walk while wearing them she kind of hunches over so that they will stay on. Really quite a funny little show. These fantastic shades also double as a bracelet when she doesn't need them to protect her eyes. How great is that. A two for one toy. Only found at your local eye care center.

a little concert

I don't know how many of you will remember that James shot a music video this past January, but the lead singer of that band was here this past weekend playing in Austin. So here is a little photo of him doing his thing at the "hole in the wall". Just recently we sent the video to Japan so now it will be airing in Europe and in Japan. That must mean that it is an amazing video.

gamer Gwen

Last night at the outdoor concert a few little girls came up to Gwen and offered her a "broken" game of electronic Yatzee. She was not really interested in it so I put it in the bag and found it this morning. I looked it over and it was only missing a battery, so I added one and the sound of hand held game music filled our ears. Well suddenly Gwen was interested in it. So we were going about our regular things to do and I was getting ready to change the sheets. So I came in to our room to get the rest of the laundry and this is what I found...
Yep that is Gwen the gamer. Did I know that she was interested in hand held games? Nope! But I think that I have a pretty good clue as to where she may get her electronic intrigue from...they call him James. I guess that we will see what the future holds for us. Maybe she will be the next really big thing in Yatzee.

outdoor blues

So here we are on our way to the Blues on the Green concert, and Gwen is ready to get out of the car.
We were looking for a good place for her to run around and just as we put down the blanket to set up she decided to take a little break...on top of the blanket we were trying to spread out.

Gwen is really into dogs, and that happens to be really convenient that we live in one of the most dog friendly cities. There are dogs everywhere we go, especially the outdoor events. So here is a little dog named coconut, and it just licked Gwen's face. She was not quite sure how to react to that kind of love. But she got over it as soon as another dog walked past.

love at first sight

I know that I have not posted in a few days, but Gwen has not been feeling so great. So today I had to run to the store. From out of nowhere Gwen is asking me for more, and pointing like crazy. So I was looking around trying to figure out what she was so into, and on the isle clear ahead of us was a little Oreo display. And they just happen to have kid fun size ones. Well She was love struck, so we got them, and she needed to have one in her hand and one in her mouth. So the black ring around her mouth is nothing to be concerned about...its just her favorite cookie. Sometimes all you need is a good cookie.
