new wardrobe...kind of

James' cousin Tannie has two boys and she brought us over a few things for Harrison, and Gwen decided that she would have a little peek into the bags. What did she find? A little shirt that is a 6-9 month. Can you tell that it is a bit small?

The sleeves are 3/4 on her and the snaps that go between the legs are at her belly button...
Here she is busted touching dads computer, wearing baby clothes. What a silly girl.

patty cake

Everyone can use a little help in the kitchen right? Well I have my own personal assistant when it comes to cooking. She wants to help do and see everything that we are doing in the kitchen. So we were making some bread sticks and she was really getting into her work. I think that it is interesting that you can take a picture at a different angle and your kid looks different too, so after I took this one I realized that this makes Gwen's head look gigantic, whoops.

trunk or treat

We attended our wards trunk or treat this weekend and let me tell you it was a zoo! Wow there were so many people there. Here is Gwen and James taking a turn in the costume parade.
Gwen used the boo! bucket from the baby shower, it was just her size, and not too heavy.
Here is a little family pic. I was talking if you can't tell.
The first trunk of the night. Gwen just stood there as the man asked her what she should say.
Here we are getting the hang of the take the candy part.
She has the eating the candy part pretty much perfected. She really likes the starburst chews.
It was a good night for the trunk or treat and Gwen had a great time with dad.
Here is Harrison's costume but you couldn't really see it in the carrier, oh well I knew that he was festive.
When we got home Gwen saw James taking a picture so she ran over to get in on the fun. As you can see on Gwen's face she really enjoyed the candy that she got. And she shared her stickies with all that she touched. Its a good think that they are cute, because we sure do put up with a lot of not so cute things.

checkups and shots

Well today we took Harrison in for his two week check up, even though it is a little bit late, and we took Gwen in for her flu shot. We decided that since we have a new baby and Gwen is in Nursery we better take all the precautions that we can. So here is everyone after the damage was done. And boy are we glad that we have two hands. James has a great calming effect on the kids, and when he wants to take a nap they are both so calm. Honestly I don't know how that happens. Obviously that never happens with me. It is a good thing that James is around right.

A sweater kind of day

So we recently had the great opportunity to pull out a little warmer clothes...for a day. Gwen was really excited to wear this new sweater that Grandma Barlow got for her while she was here. It is so cute and I felt like I was getting her ready for school or something. Here's to the cooler weather, here here.

what do toddlers do on the weekend?

This weekend we went to James' Aunt and Uncles house to celebrate a birthday. While we were there we found out that Gwen likes little scooters. And she is a pretty good rider.

It actually hit me while doing this little activity with her that she is no longer my little baby girl. She is almost two and she sure is starting to act that way. She has a little attitude and she is not afraid to tell you what she is thinking...even if that means that you don't understand what she is saying. So here she is getting ready for take off, and yes if you are wondering the dogs that are behind her really are that big. But have no fear, she had a stern talking to them and they are all friends. So what did you do this weekend?

this is the way we...

This is the way that Gwen and I put the babies down for a little nap. Gwen is such a good helper she wants the babies to be nice and warm, both of them. You can't help but love that.

a week alone

We finished giving Harrison a little bath and I set him down to go grab his clothes, only to return to a lounging squeaky clean baby.
We finished some laundry and Gwen spotted this blanket and put around her, so I tied it on, and she actually left it on for quite awhile...she really must be James' daughter.

And here is just a cute little sleeping picture of Harrison, only because that is what he chooses to do all day. Well besides eating and pooping. Oh well you can't think of those things when they look so cute asleep.

the week in review

Here are a few pictures from the last week. This is James thinking "what have we done?"
Here is Gwen showing signs of a future career in...something to do with shopping, concerts, and of course a cell phone.
On Sunday after church she found my shoes and decided that she really liked them, and I have to say that she was surprisingly good at walking in a wedge heel.
Here Gwen is not quite sure what, or why we have Harrison...
But she really does like him. She calls him ze bebĀ“e, like she is speaking French. It is really funny. Maybe we should start teaching her different languages.

reading rainbow

Hello everyone this is Lonna. I know that I have been absent for awhile, but James told me today that he is handing back the blogging reigns, so here is what we have been doing. Tonight James decided to check out one of our local libraries. We knew that Gwen liked books, but we had no idea that she loved them this much.
James took these with his camera and he surprised Gwen in this one.
They had this giant bear that she loved. She made it her friend. They read together, played and she even gave him hugs and kisses when it was time to go.
Now isn't that so sweet. I guess that we will be going to the Library a bit more often.

A few more pics for ya.

Well, Lonna is much more the blogger than I am, but I thought I would post a few more pics for everyone till she is ready to take over again. The first pic is Lonna with Dr. Solomon (note: this is after the labor). She was very determined to have the baby when he was on call, and she got her wish. The next pic is obviously Lonna and Harrison. I have to point out how amazingly beautiful she looks and this is immediately after the labor. I don't know how she does it, but her hair even looks styled and ready for a night on the town.

Oh, and I have to print a retraction. Harrison does not have red hair. The nurses all said it was red, I wasn't sure and took their word for it. I was bamboozled! His hair is looking a lot like Gwen's, probably a dirty blond, but you never know this early. Lonna was a tow head till she was 5 or 6 so I guess we'll see.

Harrison Grey

8 pounds.
20 inches.
Red Hair (that's right, red hair).
Labor: 3 hours.
Butt chin.

Well, that pretty much says it all. At 9:00 this morning we rushed to the hospital and 52 mins. later, Harrison Grey was born. He's a little banged up from the journey, but we still think he's a cutie. Mom and son are doing great, I'm sure we'll be home in the morning or maybe tonight if we can talk the nurses into it.

A new dancing star

Well I have to say that this kid can dance a little jig. She loves the show dancing with the stars, it is really only natural because I was in labor with her during the season finale two years ago. I think that it is in her blood. Well it could be that or maybe because James has the dancing skills as well. It is a toss up. So enjoy a little shimmy shake courtesy of Gwen.
