bubble mania

For Gwen's birthday we had bubbles and she loves them so much. After the spills and messes we still have some left, and here she is getting ready to show me how to blow a bubble, First she needs to "dip dip" and then
She takes a really deep breath and blows. She is getting better but 9 out of 10 times she blows too hard and nothing happens. Don't worry she will keep trying, even if she runs out of bubble solution.
Harrison loves to watch Gwen he thinks that she is so funny, I am not quite sure why, but hey whatever works I am just fine with. Keep him laughing Gwen and I will owe you big time in the future. Oh and if you notice that he is sticking out his tongue that is a little game that he and Gwen play too. As long as they are not making rude faces I am pretty much fine with it.

primetime switch-a-roo

I don't know if it is just me and the shows that I have been watching lately on t.v., but I feel like every time a new show debuts it is on for a few weeks and then it falls into some kind of television abyss. The last year of primetime television has been a strange one, even the stable and really popular shows have had odd changes or not so good time slots, or like the show "Friday Night Lights" having been shown on every night of the week until finally landing on a fitting Friday night. I know that the shows that have fallen in the latest season have been toyed with due to the writers strike, but as for last year and now the present shows airing I am growing tired of feeling like I am just getting into a show only to turn into it one week and have it disappear. Now like I said it could just be the shows that I am watching, I know that all of those American Idol fans out there are not disappointed, but as for the rest of the scheduled programing, I am quite irritated. Does anyone else know what I am talking about? Or am I just getting into the lame shows? That could very well be the problem, I wouldn't put it passed myself to invest my time into something kind of sappy or silly.

T2

This post is not about the terminator 2, is it about entering into the terrible twos and now it is official. We now have a two year old. On Sunday in nursery Gwen was the lucky girl of the day she even got a crown to celebrate. Doesn't she look excited. So we brought treats and had a little party, then we went home to kick off a celebration with Ryan, Leslie, and the twins.
Happy Birthday to you...
Gwen really likes to sing the Happy Birthday song, she even sings it to herself.

London and Madelyn gave Gwen a bubble blowing gun and play food that she can cut in half, (they have Velcro in the middle) she loves them.
and everybody loves cupcakes and...
bubbles and...
more cupcakes. We had a really fun day, and threw a few two year old tantrums in the mix as well, thanks to Gwen. I can only hope that the whining gets better as she grows into the age. One can always hope right. We love you Gwen.

Harrison gets the giggles

After church today Harrison was really happy, kind of a big deal around here, so James grabbed the camera and captured a few little moments that I will be thinking of during the colic times.

Gwen decided that she was going to share a little love, and she gave everyone hugs and kisses. I sure hope that later in life they will still be this good of friends.

as you wish

So at the request of a few people I would like to share a little recipe.

Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup

4 (14.5 ounce) cans of chicken stock
1 (14.5 ounce) can of vegetable stock
1 package egg noodles (cooked)
carrots sliced
celery sliced
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
shredded chicken breast cooked and cut up

Bring stock to a boil and add raw veggies and cook for a few minutes. until tender. Add celery and chicken soup, stir and then add noodles and chicken. Warm everything together and serve it up! Ta da. Enjoy.

food finds

After a really messy lunch of spaghetti O's, it was straight to the tub for Gwen.
Look at that little smirk, who does she think she is?
I have heard a rumor going around that people actually make things from scratch! Well Paige gave me a recipe for home made chicken noodle soup, so I decided to give it a try, and here it is. I had my taste testers tell me what they really thought and James ( who is not a soup person) said that he really liked it and would eat it again, as left overs, that is huge. So here is to home made meals, we may have to try something else again soon.

what's up Doc?

Today was a big day for our family almost everyone saw a doctor. Harrison added three more shots to his record, and he was not a happy camper about that despite what you may see in this picture, he was blinded by the flash. He was also jipped a band-aid, bummer. Gwen also had a check up but she walked away shot free!
So she had no trouble playing around while we were waiting for James to finish up his appointment. We sure do love inflatable toys.

Here is the after effects of getting ingrown toenails fixed, it is a form a Chinese torture if you didn't know. Also you can see the remains of the grease burn on his foot on the left. Poor guy. Hopefully the next time that we see the doctors it will be less painful for everyone.

Times up

The votes are in and although some of you were on the right track I do believe that we have stumped you all. It is a giant bubble blower! Just kidding it is actually one side of a curved camera dolly track. Those are James' exact words. In my terms it is a sign that we may soon be shooting another film, and I sure hope that means that we won't be repainting. So keep on checking back to see how it works, and what James' does with it.

Take a wild guess

James' mom plays a game on her blog where you guess what an object is, and so I have decided that I will give it a try. So go ahead and take a guess and then tomorrow I will tell you what it is and who has guessed correctly. Good luck.

A busy Valentines Day

Today started out with a Valentines Play group, and then a trip to dig up dinosaurs.
London, Madelyn and Gwen decide who digs up what.
It is tough to dig up a whole dinosaur alone.

Later that afternoon Gwen found a way to use her head and a chair at the same time. Can you see that giant goose egg!
Here is another peek at the bump.
Daddy brought home flowers for the ladies of his life, white for Gwen....
and red for mommy. What a day today has been. Thanks for taking care of us James. We love you.

a nice day for a drive

A little lunch of Mac and Cheese with our good friend Tyson, and on such a great day one must venture outdoors.
Anyone for a drive?
A gentleman always helps a lady in first...
and then squeezes in too. What a fun day we had.

taking care of business

I caught Gwen and Harrison in two different places but both doing the same kind of business. Just another little perk of being the mommy, diapers. I do think that it is so funny that Gwen goes behind something to do her business. Maybe it is a comfort like a podium is to a public speaker. What funny things these kids do.

not really my night

Remember the Elementary classics by Shel Silverstine? Well tonight I was contemplating the poem of "One Sister for Sale" but with a little bit of a twist. More like a crying infant for sale. The tension was high around here as we tried everything that we could think of, and finally the little lad is asleep, and we are taking some deep breaths. We will see how tomorrow goes. Breathe.

park n' play

Today the park was calling our names. It was sunny and warm with a little breeze here and there, you can see how crazy our hair is because of that. But everyone knows that when the park calls you must go play.
Gwen is getting so big she was showing me how to use all the playscape toys.
Harrison loves the outdoors just as much as Gwen does, even when it is a little windy.
Thank goodness for the slides. What would childhood be without them.
Oh and just as we were getting ready to go I saw this GIANT ant on the bench, so I grabbed the water bottle lid so that we could see how big it really is, you know this is Texas so you go big or go home, at least that is what the bugs say. I guess this means that we better call the bug guy soon. James said that this ant is the one that they used in "Honey I shrunk the Kids". It very well could be.

Harry's new hang out

Lately Harrison has been doing a few things that qualify as big kid stuff around here. So the first one is that he wants to be standing up and looking around. I remember when Gwen did the same thing, funny how they show such similarities, like they were related. The other thing is sitting up. When he is even slightly propped up he is trying to pull himself into the sitting position, it is so fun to see him learn and grow. So naturally since he is all about sitting up and looking around the booster seat is a a shoe in for the favorite place in the house. Here he is after giving Gwen the boot from the chair. I think that he is pretty happy about his victory.

What's in a name?

Today marks the four month mark for Harrison, and so I thought that I would look up his name to see a little bit about what the future holds for him. Well I was really excited about this until I looked around and found that Harrison, meaning son of Harry, actually derived from the name Henry along the line somewhere, I was kind of hoping that it would have had its own beginning mark by its self instead of in another actual name, but it is alright because it is a strong name that means home ruler. Now throughout history there have been many great Henry's including many kings and powerful men, so for the record we are looking forward to seeing many great things from our Harrison, weather he learns them from us or someone else.

Oh and Mike and Kim you don't need to look up the meaning of Henry I have already done that for you. If you are still planning on using that name. Your welcome.

Cooper and Gwen

This is Cooper. He and Gwen have been long distance friends since we moved out to Austin. He is a few months older than Gwen, but the age and distance don't seem to bother them. When they do get together it is just giggles and fun.
So we had lunch with Cooper and since then Gwen asks about Cooper everyday. It is a good thing that we got some pictures.
This is my friend Kelly and her husband Steve. They are eagerly awaiting a baby boy that will arrive in just a few weeks! We are so excited for them, and Coop is going to be a big brother. Yeah! I guess then he and Gwen can talk all about the duties of being an older sibling.
