For those of you who like a good sno cone here is a little warning so that you will not be bamboozled like we were. Last summer the fun sno cone place that we went to was on this corner right by P. Terry's, we thought that since it was such nice weather we would take Dan for an icy treat. So we came to the same corner and to our surprise the sno cone place had a whole new get up. Look at that shiny new trailer, and it seemed that was not the only new thing. Well we went over and had a look at all the new changes. They had all the syrup on the outside so that you could pump your own, and let me tell you that was not as glamorous as they make it out to be (so sticky). And they didn't have all the yummy toppings. I was really quite upset. So we ordered and the girls inside really didn't seem to know what they or we were talking about. So we left with our lame treats and as we were walking to P. Terry's...

There it was on the other side of the block. Sno Beach! So I dumped my cone and headed over to tell the people that we were swindled by their sneeky counterpart. They had a lot of questions for us about what the "Others" were like. So we ratted them out. Then purchased a yummy green apple with caramel and cream sno cone. And we all ate it up. In the end all was well, but I just thought that I should issue a small heads up so that you will not be disappointed if you are looking for something specific that sno beach has and the other places don't. Good luck and happy sno coneing.

wow! What a fancy treat, I had no idea that they had toppings for sno cones. I am a huge fan of snow cones myself. I'm partial to the the Tiger's blood from the Snowie vendors but I'm sure Sno Beach would be incredible. I'm glad you've been having fun with Dan, he keeps our family always laughing, sorry that he's leaving you, but we can't wait to have him back!
I am so glad you straightened that out. I for one feel gyped every time I order a sno cone here and don't have the option to add toppings. There is no going back. Might I note that if WE had been the visitors to witness those kinds of sno cone shenanegans, I don't think we would have ever come back to Austin. Make that the whole state of Texas.
wow lonna and to think that there is toppings for sno cones.. I only thought there is Rainbow Snows.. I just might make it out to Texas one of these days!!
Hope all is well for you and the family.
Love
Suzy
Oh my gosh! Good to know!!! Can't wait to make our first sno cone trip of the season :)
I have to give a sigh of disapointment to all the people that have not experienced Sno Beach. It is more than a snow cone, it is creamy heaven in a styrofoam cup. I almost cried when I saw the picture of the "new" trailer. I felt totally betrayed by them. Then I jumped for joy when I scrolled down and saw the real deal. Thanks for letting me know before I had to experience such a horrible thing personally.
How funny! I don't think I've ever eaten a sno cone in my life, but after this post, Lonna, I feel like I should! Mabye I'm missing out...we should go there sometime and you can guide me in my creation!
