lucky #7
Yesterday James and I celebrated our anniversary. We have been married now for seven years. Kind of crazy to think that in the last seven years we have moved five times, been through a lot of school, traveled to far off places, switched careers multiple times, and we also have two toddlers to show for it. I don't know what the future will bring but I do know a few things about James:
1. James is a real trooper when it comes to some of the crazy ideas that I have, he is always willing to try my cooking, or watch a lame movie that I think I want to see, he even lets me dress the kids the way I want to, even if he hates what they are wearing. (Gwen's goucho pants.)
2. James is not a negative talker, he is not unkind to people in conversations, I know that sometimes I am sarcastic and rude, but James has a skill with holding his tongue and not talking bad about people, that has yet to wear off on me.
3. James has more self control than I probably would have given him credit for, in the last few months he has lost over 35 pounds despite my bad eating habits, and snacking food that happens to be around the house. He has been so focused and dedicated and I am so proud of him for sticking to his goal.
4. James is a smarty pants. Not only in technology or fix it up stuff, he is very clever and practically unbeatable in most games. If you are willing to play against him, be ready to take a hit to your ego. This is something that I really like that about him though. He has even come to the light on why I must travel great distances to get a good hair cut, now that is a smart man.
Thanks for sticking with me this whole time James, I love you and, I wonder what the next 7 years will bring.

Happy Anniversary! I hope you guys got to celebrate!
Oh I am so behind. I think my status on your blog is officially a 'lurker' as I am totally caught up on your life but too spacey these days for any type of coherent feedback. I'll give it a try...
*Happy Anniversary! I always enjoy finding out new things about James except I usually know them, as Ryan helps run the James fan club as well. :) I hope you had a great day, seven years wow!
*Welcome back from Utah! It's so funny to be welcoming back our brothers at the same time, and getting to know them all over again. I am so glad you survived a trip with two toddlers in tow, now there is something I have yet to attempt and may never with three! But next summer if we decide to travel together, let's take on all 5 for sure.
* I LOOOOVE your hair! I know I say this every time. It's refreshing to know there are hair stylists out there that are making people look better and not sabotaging them. :) I can't wait to see it in person and hear about how she worked her magic. How cute that Gwen got hers done too!
*We would love to see you and the kids if you have a day free and want to see the lake or the playground, or just come have lunch! The kids of course still mention Gwen every day. :) Now that I'm thinking about it, this should have been an e-mail and not a comment but oh well. I would always prefer comments to e-mails! And there is my lame attempt at catching up!! :)
happy anniversary James and Lonna. I hope you were able to celebrate, possibly without the kiddos. James, whenever you want to get whooped in a game of Settlers, let us know.
So glad you got married 7 years ago! A very lucky day for the Barlow's!
Congrats guys! You two are such a cute couple-I always remember James popping into Einstein's to visit. What a fun family you two have-looks like a fun 7 years! :)
Wow, it really has been 7 years? That went so fast. And you are still happy together! That is so cool. I am very impressed that James has lost so much weight! Has the biggest loser competition at work ended yet?
Happy Anniversary James and Lonna..

I wish you the best for the next 7 more!
Love

I feel bad leaving the 8th comment, like I should have let it stay at 7 comments to go with your 7th anniversary, but I couldn't NOT wish you a happy anniversary! So happy SEVENTH anniversary, you've been through a lot together. Such wedded bliss and two adorable kids along the way is wonderful. Congrats to James on his determination and weight loss! I'm jealous! May the next 7 years be filled with love and happiness! xoxo
Oh, man. I just realized that I am signed in with my card blog and I left a novel of a comment and don't want to retype it. So...just know that it's from me, Kelly.
What nice things you said about James and I bet he can say nice things about you. Happy Belated Anniversary.
Love,
Grandma H
