On Thursday we went to the Botanical Gardens and Gwen wanted to walk with her Grandpa.

He showed her all the neat trees, flowers, fish, and whatever other animals we came across. Gwen was loving it. She touched everything that she could. Including water and spider webs.

She had to stand on her tippy toes to see into the water, but by jove she did it.

Here is James' mom Sylvia and her sister Tricia, patiently waiting for us on the other side of the bridge.

We saw a lot of coy fish, and some of them were bigger than Gwen. I think that even though it was really muggy outside it was a very successful outing. Not to mention that we ate at the Hula Hut afterwards. Now that is a good time. And after lunch and playing with Grandma and Grandpa Gwen could hardly keep her eyes open. I think that she lasted maybe a good three minutes in the car before she was down for the count. It makes me a little tired just thinking about it.

What beautiful, scenic pictures you got of Gwen at Ladybird Johnson's little retreat. Fantastic and "frame"able!
Sorry it rained on your 4th of July festivities but it still looks like you guys managed to have fun, especially with family visiting. My question is why didn't I get to go to the Botanical Gardens when I visited? They look beautiful and Gwen is so brave for touching a spider's web. I can hardly look at a web without breaking out into hysterics
Is that the same Botanical Garden we sort of visited? Well I know that the Hula Hut was the same. You don't forget that kind of yummy experience.
It looks like Gwen is keeping her visitors very busy. I take it she remembers them from the DVD? I love those pics. It's always fun to see Grandma and Grandpa Barlow. Oh and Aunt Tricia too! :)
what kind of user name was that?
oh well, at least it didn't come up as Ryan again.
How fun! That's one of those things we never did while in Austin that we wish we would have.
The gardens are very beautiful. I'm glad to see you are giving Gwen al kinds of experiences. These are such a bonus in children's developmental stages. The more diverse experiences they have the greater the expansion of their neural networks, therfore the smarter they become. Way to go mom and dad.
