Weekend projects, who doesn't have them and love them. While James' parents were here we busted out a few of our own projects and here is one of them. We started with a little of this,

Needed a little of that...and a whole lot of sawing and painting and some power tool usage, add a big ol' mat from IKEA and what do you get...

A really cool play table for the kids room. It has four cubbies that are all cut into different shapes on the bottom, and the mat that has all the roads on it...

Finish it off with some toys and pint sized stools and what do you get...

A really fun play area that the kids can't get enough of. I love it and I think that it turned out so great, Thanks James and Brent for all the hard work.

That is darling! We have the mat also but it never occured to me to do something with it. Wow I'm inspiried! I'll have to put it on the list after my fountain, molding, painting...

Oh wow, that is really awesome and so creative! How did you guys think of that? You should open an etsy shop and sell these, I bet you'd make a killing. I would definitely buy one.
That's way cool! I love projects like that. Great work Dad and James.
It sure turned out nice! I like it better than the table at IKEA
Wow, that's awesome! Maybe if we had a house we would have weekend projects like that but we have absolutely no more room to put anything here! Lucky you guys!
Wow! What a fun thing to have in the kids' room! I wish I had more motivation to do something fun like that.
It looks wonderful, better than the one we saw at IKEA. Good work guys, your lucky to have such a handy dandy husband and father in law. Love you guys
VERY IMPRESSIVE!!! You guys are amazing! I hope your kids know just how amazing you 2 are!! If you ever need me to remind them, say in 15 years, just give me a call!!
You have got to love that Brent works on projects even when he's on vacation! We have a gate for our stairs that never would have been concocted otherwise...I absolutely love how the table turned out! How smart of you to make use of the great indoors these days, although I am thinking of installing a double pool per your inspiration. What a great idea to turn the Ikea mat into a multi-purpose little table! I think we may need to come try that one out, and maybe you can admire our gate too, (about a year too late for Harry, but totally perfect for Spock. :)
Nice!
