Today marked the first egg hunt of the season. For playgroup we met at the park and each kid brought 1/2 dozen treat filled eggs. The eggs were scattered across a soccer field and the kids were let loose. I thought that we had prepped Gwen for the hunt, but I was wrong. She ran to the first egg that she saw sat down and opened it up for an instant treat.

While all the other kids were running and gathering all across the field Gwen was eating her treat from her one egg.

Kaitlin tried to help her out, but Gwen just wanted the candy. No more, no less.

She just opened it up and dumped it on the ground so that she could see what she was eating.

In one last attempt to help her out Tyson came over to show her what you really need to do, and how many eggs he was able to get. But Gwen just tried to take his candy. I don't know where she got that little sweet tooth, but I am not fessing up to anything. Maybe she will do better on the next hunt.

What a fun easter egg hunt. I love how green the grass looks. It was such a nice day! I think Gwen got her sweet tooth from me. I have a big enough one for a lot of little kids!!
Lonna- That is so cute.
Gwen is a girl who knows what she wants, and when there is candy... She will just have to stop and savor the treat!
Happy Easter

I love egg hunts! Gwen is growing more and more into a beautiful little girl every day :) Give her a big hug from us please!
I am jealous that you can have egg hunts outside. We got back from Kansas City today and I am happy to report that all of our snow melted while we were gone, but the yard is a super soggy mess. We'll be having our Easter egg hunt inside this year.
It's kind of a tough concept for the little ones to grasp. I prefer the instant gratification of the treats too. What an excellent play group!
Sometimes getting what you want is one Easter Egg at a time. I am glad Gwen pauses to relish the small moments of life! I love her hair!
I REMEMBER THE WONDERFUL EASTER EGG HUNTS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD WHEN YOU KIDS WERE LITTLE. IT WAS A VERY EXCITING TIME AND ALL THE KIDS GOT SOMETHING, AT EVERY HOUSE. WE TOO WERE JEALOUS OF THE VERY GREEN GRASS. HAVE A VERY WONDERFUL EASTER. LOVE FROM ALL OS US IN UTAH. MOM AND DAD DATTAGE
I can't wait until Evy can go on egg hunts. I'd settle for a little interest in scooting. Either way it looked like Gwen had fun with that one egg. Happy Easter a little late. Envying the shorts and short sleeves.
What a fun way to practice for the big day. My kids are the same way with the eggs, they don't care about quantity, just candy. Madelyn has a little chocolate sweet tooth and I too am baffled where it could have come from. :) Gwen looks darling!
