family's that function

Simone celebrated her second birthday and invited us to attend. It was at a really fun park that had lots of new toys, and swings, and all sorts of fun things, but where do you think that I found my kid playing?
In the dirt, and with sticks! And she even coaxed London and Maddie into joining in.
Then it was on to the garbage cans. Oh boy what a great beginning.
Finally we were able to get the kids all rounded up, we just had to say the word cake.
Everyone sang a little happy birthday tune...
and all the kids wanted to help Simone blow out the candles.
Then we let them eat cake, and more cake. And after we sugar 'em up we let them loose and they ran around until it was time to go, I am not sure what happened in everyone else's cars, but in ours there was not an open eye after about 15 minutes. Phew, that was exciting.

I'm pretty sure Gwen didn't enjoy dirt or sticks until L & M made their way into Austin playgrounds...(a little dirt AND sticks never hurt anyone, can I still say that?) What a fun birthday adventure, though I must say L & M are ready for May to come so it can be their turn. Good thing there are a lot of parks around, you can never go wrong with playgrounds and birthdays. :)
