just my luck
Today has been interesting to say the least. The kids have been kind of cranky, Gwen decided that she was better than needing a nap, and Harrison must be trying to get bigger because he has been eating like we are in a famine. But the fun doesn't stop there, this afternoon I was eating a corndog and when I bit down it felt like I just crunched a rock! Turns out I lost a part of a filling.
Now for those of you who know me, you know that I dread the dentist, no dread is too soft, I basically fear the dentist. Obviously stemming from childhood experiences. I have not really had the best luck with my dentists in the past, and when I tried to get a hold of our new dentist to make an emergency appointment, I had to leave a message on an answering machine because they have really strange hours. But while the recording was playing one of the things it said was addressed to those who are anxious to go to the dentist. I was hoping that I was going to hear something like don't worry we have great drugs, or you will feel nothing while we work on your teeth, but their comforting message was that they had big screen televisions. Well how great is it that I get to see one of them tomorrow morning at 9 am.
I told James that because it is me I will need something drastic like a root canal, or a cap, or dentures but he thinks that they will just fill the old one. I guess that we will have to wait and see.

Good luck at the dentist! I hope it is a near pain free experience and you come home with all your teeth.
Now that is a sick April Fools joke your tooth played on you. A corndog?! Maybe a year-old candy apple you'd expect that from. I too fear the dentist as an adult...not so much the procedures, but the damage to my checkbook. Never good news. Well I must say a little laughing gas and a big screen tv go a long way at the dentist. My family dentist always tried to ask me questions while working on my teeth, and not just yes/no questions. I always wondered why such a people person would end up in that profession...Ah, dentists. You'll be fine tomorrow. I sometimes think I would prefer the sound of teeth drilling to two two-year olds whining! So in a way it may be like a day at the spa!!!
I hate the dentist as well. I think it would take a broken filling to get me in there because not much else will.
I hope the visit goes well for you. Let me know how it goes.
Good Luck! Todd hates the dentist too. He had a filling fall out YEARS ago and he just recently went to the Dentist after he was told that if he didn't have it filled soon he'd have to have a root canal. So I'm sure you'll be fine, i'm siding with James on the just replace the filling theory.
I kind of had a day like that yesterday too- minus a filling coming out. But I actually love the dentist especially when they give you the drugs...But I hope your appointment goes well since I guess you are probably there right now. Good luck and enjoy the big TV!
I hate going to the Dentist too, in fact I need to go now, but keep on putting it off..... I do like my Dentist as a person, it is just the whole entire experience that I hate!
Good luck....hope it goes well and fast!
Lonna- I am so afraid of the dentist.. I would rather give birth than go!!
Maybe you and I had the same dentist as children as we both hate it so much..
Best of luck to you.
Let me know how it goes
Suzy
Suzy, You know there is a good chance that you and I could have had the same dentist. Our family one growing up was in Logan and he was really rough. As I got older I decided that he was tiring of his profession, and therefore didn't care of the discomfort of his patients. It is for this reason that I am traumatized by going to the dentist.
Oh my. Now I see why you mentioned you dislike creepy crawly things less than the dentist. I'm going to have to read on to see what happened. I hope the big television helped.
