So I finally decided to try to take the kids to the pool by myself, and it really wasn't so bad. We played in the sand (volleyball court) and Harrison played by the side.

He is great at giving a really big cheesy smile.

And who does he think he is trying to crawl around. Honestly doesn't he think about what he is doing to me by going mobile? He is not even 8 months yet, but he thinks that he is 2.

After the sand he was beat. And he took a nap in the stroller for awhile so that I could play with Gwen in the water.

Testing out the water...

testing again.

And finally we are in! We were lucky that there was not anyone else there so she had no temptation to run into the deep part, but she is a little cautious about the water anyway. But if you hear her talk about it you would think that she swam in the water all the time. Even when we walk past the pool she will tell me that she needs to put on her suit so we can play in the water. However when we actually get to the water she is oh so timid. I guess that does make it easier to keep an eye on her, which I don't mind at all. Yeah for the pool, it is a great way to beat the heat, even if you are only in 6 inches of it.

Wow! I'm proud, that is an incredibly hard thing to do. I try to never go near the water unless I have an adult for each kids, not because something could happen but because look stupid and have a neck ache trying to keep track of where everyone is at one time. You are a brave woman.

Good work taking the kids to the pool. I am so happy Harrison obliged and took a nap.
Yay! Now there is some multi-tasking. Thank goodness for the shallow end, and Harrison's ability to take naps even in this suffocating heat. I feel like I'm melting every time I'm outside! One of these days we will combine forces and see if it's any easier to keep track of a small army in the pool. I sometimes think the sunbathers cringe every time they see the twins coming. The noise level is deafening. Thank goodness for the pool though, it's a guaranteed win.
That looks like it was fun! Harrison is so big!
Way to be brave! And what are you going there to swim for?? Come over when you want to swim, it's much more fun with more people.
Harrison looks more and more like James everyday, he such a cute little guy. I can't believe he's actually trying to crawl. I think when you have 2 you would prefer if they never learned to crawl... or at least, that's how I would feel if I had kids, hahah. Gwen's swimming suit is uber cute. Lonna, you're an inspiration to all mothers. One day, you'll have to write a book on the tricks of parenting.
I am so proud of you! I am not brave enough to take my kids to the pool. Its not really warm enough to go to the pool, but the thought still scares me. We have a little kiddie pool that I will fill up in the back yard, but I'm not sure we'll be heading to the local pool.
You can tell it is summer when pool time begins! (that probably means we don't get any summer because we rarely have pool time) You are a very brave woman! Gwen played in the water longer than when we went to the little water park!
You were very brave to be by yourself with the kids. Congratulations. Harrison is surely growing fast and so cute!
Love,

way to go lonna! I'm always nervous to take both kids places like that. Especially with crazy kids like I have!! Hopefully we'll be able to swim together soon!
I bought Katelin a Coast Guard approved life jacket this week just for the purpose of managing two kids at the pool. In fact, I might just send her by herself. And by the way, "K" is also a pool and swimming suit lover. One night I rewarded her for good behavior by letting her sleep in her swimming suit. That was an exciting day.
Lonna, I'm proud of you! You conquered!! Gwen and Harrison are so stinkin' cute. I love watching Gwen putt around at the pool. She'll be diving in before you know it.
