Memorial Monday

James and Ryan came up with the idea of renting a boat and going out on the lake for the holiday. I myself was very skeptical of having four kids under the age of four on a speeding boat, but yet again I was delightfully surprised. Right when we got on the boat Gwen took the captains seat and was ready for some speed, or so we thought.
London and Maddie (and matching Minnie Mouse's) took the front of the boat, supervised by Ryan.
When Gwen was kicked out of the drivers seat she joined her cousins in the front.
Harrison was also ready to hit the waves, however he did not see too much of the action, he slept a lot. Which was just fine.
The squinty face, as the wind speed picks up.
Ahhhh the blackmail pictures that you have all been waiting for. Here is James.
James took Gwen on the tube, she was not a very willing participant, and that didn't last really long, but at least she tried.
Here I am, this is just before James told Ryan to take it up to mock speed and turn the corner at the same time, where I was ejected from the tube, and thrown into the water. I guess that was fine because where is the fun if you just ride mildly like I thought that I would.
At the end of the day we had four sleeping kids and five worn out adults. It was home for some naps and baths that seemed to allude us at our house. Man those kids better sleep good tonight. We also had the chance to have a barbecue with some of our friends, which ended a practically perfect holiday for the Barlow's. Harrison was just falling asleep as Leslie and Heather took to the tube so I failed to get pictures of that, but it was great too.

I think this was a perfect way to celebrate the holiday. I'm very jealous. I love being out on a boat. Brent's family vacations always include a boat and Im not sure we have ever gone on one and come off of it without a sleeping child!! Looks like everyone enjoyed themselves!

Lonna, I never see pictures of you on your blog so this last picture was a breath of fresh air. You guys had an awesome weekend. It's hard for me to fathom that it was warm enough to go boating. It has been raining every day here for almost a week!

I think Harrison's nap was perfectly timed and I'm not disappointed about the lack of pictures of myself on the tube! Now that would have been blackmail. I wish we had a video clip of the air you caught on that last run, I don't know about you but we have all sorts of bruises sprouting today! I'm glad everyone took a nap for you and I think it was worth it for that phenomenon alone. We really need to think about making a hobby out of boating-next time we won't forget the beef jerkey or the carbonation. :)

I swear you post these types of things just to make me jealous!! You know I come from the land of 10000 lakes, so it's in my blood to want to be playing on a boat in the water! I want you to know that we had a great Memorial Monday also...we went to Macey's. Take that! I wish I was there more to see you than anything!!

Your holiday was definitely more exciting than ours!! Anything that wears the kids out is considered a success in my book!
