everyone LOVES Gwen
Well yesterday was the "big" dental surgery day for Gwen. She went hand in hand with her dad to the surgery center at 5:20 in the morning. She was telling me the entire day before that she was going to see the dentist with her dad. Yep, because that is what dads do.
So while James and Gwen checked in and got all settled in for the long morning of x-rays, fillings, cleaning, and sealants for her bitty teeth I waited at home just hoping that she would live through it all, while I was waiting James sent me these...
Look how tiny she is in the "kid" clothes. And those little red socks, Oh I could just eat her up. But then I saw that James sent another picture...
Oh she is just too little to be going through this, but at least they knew that she was a lover of stickers, she puts them in the same spots every time, arms, tummy, legs, and holding one in her hand. That is my girl. After waiting a really long time and bugging James with lots of phone calls, and messages he let me know that she was out of the surgery, in the recovery room, and she did great, but then he told me about all the work that she had to have done. I wanted to cry. It turns out that in the two months that it took for us to finally get Gwen in to have the dental work done things went from no good to worse, in the x-rays they found more trouble, and lets just put it this way for the amount of money that we will pay for the dental work we could have had another child! And the poor little thing had more work done than James and I have had done combined!!
When she finally got home she was still a little tipsy and not quite herself, and her poor little lip was super stretched out from being propped open so long. So here is Gwen's imitation of the octa-mom.
She was super tired and all she wanted was the binki and her new toy zebra. I was trying to tell her that the binki might not be the best idea with her giant lips, but she was so sad that I gave in and quickly after this is what happened.
Well Gwen I hope that you are able to keep up the charm that you have on people when you get older, I am sure that it could come in handy. Oh what is that you say Gwen? You want some new shoes, well alright whatever you want. I am more than happy to comply to your demands, even when the dentist office stops calling. Turns out that James+Lonna = not so great teeth. Yikes!

oh my goodness, that hospital outfit is so adorable that it kind of brings tears to my eyes. Gwen is such a tiny little thing isn't she!? How could you not love her, she's almost too cute to be real. I still can't believe the whole process she had to go through to have her teeth fixed, in all my dental years I've never seen anything like it. It looks like she was such a trooper though. I love the duck lips she's sporting; it makes her look even more pathetic, hahaha.
Well, I hope the dental office gave you lots of tips and products to help little Gwen's cavity situation so that she and you don't have to go through this again.
Poor thing! Glad she made it through all right. Love the duck lips :)
What a brave little Gwen! I'm glad all the dental work is over and done with. I hope you don't have to go through that again. Have her lips gone back to normal yet? Pool little lips.
Gwen is a lucky girl - women pay big bucks to have lips look like that!! I'm glad she did well during the procedure. Gwen is quite the charmer and I know that she has a big fan in Tyson!! I hope the recovery goes smoothly and she's back to normal very quickly!
oh her poor little(or big) lips!!! What a sport. She looks so cute in that gown!
Way to go Gwen what a trooper, (Your mom had to have sealants on her baby teeth too. But once she learned how to brush and floss she was awesome.) Hope you are feeling better, when you come to Utah we will have to go feed the ducks and go shopping. And may I just say, James what a great dad you are, we love you. That was super. And npw a word from the teacher in me. Throw away the sippy cups. We love you so much we never want you to go through anything like this again. Love grandma and grandpa D.
Oh my! She is just the cutest thing ever, pre and post surgery! That little hospital outfit is adorable! What a brave little thing to go through all that. I hope I get to meet her someday...she looks like so much fun!
I'm glad the big day is over! What exactly did they do to her? She sure looks cute in that hospital outfit and I'm loving the octomom lips!
Hi,
thanks for the healthy tips.
I like very much your blog. This is nice collection and references information.
Poor Gwen, I have been worried about how the big day went (I guess I should have hit 'refresh' to find out earlier). Luckily, Ryan provided a play by play as usual...:)
Oh those pictures do break my heart. I just hate that yucky anesthesia numb-mouth empty stomach feeling. As expected, in steps supermom with the TLC for the aftermath. Octo-mom, I love it! Yeah a tipsy Gwen and Octo-mom, equally as coherent. :)
I'm sorry to hear about the scheduling issue. How is it those kinds of things never get resolved by the polite mother calling non-stop, but demand some kind of lung capacity and threats. But at least you knocked out all the dental work in one shot, hopefully for a lifetime, eh?
Well I can relate to Gwen with the sweet tooth and loads of dental work, maybe she and I can form some kind of sugar withdrawal club. That way we can spend all the money we save on shoes, sound like a plan?
And if you want to pretend you had another baby since you just paid for one you are welcome to borrow ours. :)
Oh my goodness!! What is all of this dental surgery business? Well she was for sure the cutest little patient of the day!! What a trooper too! She looked so calm during the whole thing! What a brave little girl. Way to go GWENNIE!! We love you guys!
Ohhhhh poor Gwen! I am so glad she came through the anesthesia so well and she won't need dental work for a long, long time, I hope. I am sending you lots of love Gwen!
Start saving up for Harrison!
Poor little Gwen, but at least she looks so cute in her hospital attire. Glad you didn't have to be there and she did well. I should probably take my kids to the dentist one of these days.
Ahh, how sad and sweet. I've always loved Gwen too! She has that sweet, adorable, innocent look.
