If you want to be domestic clap your hands

Clap*Clap This weekend we took on a new challenge around here, and we made our debut attempt at homemade applesauce. We used three different kinds of apples, and a little hard work with the peeling, and soon we were smelling the yummy smells of Autumn, apples, cinnamon, and some secret ingredients.
James is getting ready to measure the amounts into our jars so that we can seal them up.
And a little while later this is what we have to show for our efforts...and full tummies as well. You know that you can't just make something this yummy and not eat it as you go, that would be silly.
Maybe one day I can actually say that I am kind of domestic, instead of just trying to be, but as for today, I will keep pretending.

Good work! I've never made applesauce, but I buy it from Costco all the time.

That looks like a lot of work! But rewards worth the effort. I bet it was really yummy.

WOW Lonna, very impressive. Homemade applesauce sounds awesome. I always knew that you were the domestic type. Are chocolates next?

way to go!! Very impressive. I have always wanted to try canning but haven't found anything I have wanted to can! Maybe applesauce will have to be my first! And impressive you got the whole family involved!

I will definitely be joining next time around-
love that James was pretty much spearheading this project! :)
You know my mom makes applesauce every fall with a strainer and a few secret ingredients of her own and she may be on to something. There is nothing like homemade applesauce, not to mention it doesn't seem like autumn unless something yummy is cooking in the kitchen!
