James' dad flew into town on Saturday afternoon, and what do we do after we greet a new visitor, we go eat somewhere fantastic. Today we ventured back to Phil's Ice House. We love the food, and the kids can run wild while you enjoy your meal. So here is a side view. Phil's is connected to an Amy's Ice cream ( a local ice cream place here) Oh so yummy!

So we were able to get in some play time while waiting for our food, and if you notice everyones faces are bright red, it is because by 2:00 pm it was already 90˚ outside, plus the humidity so you can imagine that it was really warm, the perfect day for ice cream.

London and Gwen enjoy some of Grandpas shake.

Maddie and Harrison enyoy having Grandpa here too.

Gwen found the cow posters. This time she stuck her head right in the face cut out and waited for a little photo shoot.

After all the eating and playing we were all getting ready to go and Gwen climbed up on this table and stuck the tobassco sauce in her mouth, great. She was sorry about that moments later. It was really fun to have everyone together for lunch, and then we decided to head back to a cooler, much cooler place to visit some more.

So London, Gwen, and Madelyn all led us back to Ryan and Leslie's house for a break from the heat. While we were relaxing and the kids were playing, the ladies snuck off to the book store and shopped with both hands free. Hey it was exciting to me.
Sunday after our church blocks, we all had a yummy tex mex meal at Leslie's and spent some time talking and thinking about mothers. A great way to spend the day if you ask me.

Well except for the fact that Londie and Maddie almost had a heat stroke, I'd say it was a success! I'm glad those pictures did justice to just how bright red their faces turned. I would say our experience at Phil's was fantastic, you can't beat the combination ice cream playground setup they have. And how fun was that bookstore? Hands down the best part of Mother's day weekend, who cares that we put our daughters at risk for cutting their own hair? :) I am already going through Brent and Syl withdrawals, so I'm glad you are documenting. I love that shot of our little "triplets" holding hands!
How fun! We'll have to try out Phil's when we get there soon!!
What fun! Phils and Amy's sound like 2 places I need to go. Layton has such boring restaurants.
I'm glad you had such a nice Mother's Day weekend. I'm jealous you got to spend it with family.
And why doesn't every town have an Amy and Phil's set up?!
I am so glad you got a picture of Gwen trying out Tabasco sauce! I think she will be more careful of what she puts in her mouth....at least up until she tried out safari food next! So, so, so fun to be with you !!!
i can't wait to try this place out. It looks so much fun in the pictures. Of course, the weather for next week doesn't look any cooler than what you experienced so I'm sure we'll be getting the ice cream as well!!
Oh the fun places you all go and like I said Austin just sounds better and better, but maybe the heat is the downside, especially for an older person who is hot quite often anyway. We're so glad that Brent and Sylvia could be there for a visit. maybe someday we'll have to venture that way. Have a great week, and by the way the braids are looking better and better, and more and more like a little girl i once knew. Love mom and dad
Loved all the pictures but my favorite was the three little girls holding hands. Just darling.
Love,
Grandma H
