"to do"
I am a list person. I like to make lists of things that I need to get finished in the day, or errands I need to run, shopping lists, cleaning jobs etc... So since we are having guests this week I had a list of things that I needed to get finished before they arrived, but I was having a hard time staying motivated.
Last night I was getting the kids ready for baths, Gwen was in the tub playing as I started to ready Harrison for the bath. Now Harrison has been a spitter upper pretty regularly since he started eating baby food, so we just kind of expect it, but on this night I was holding him in one arm on my hip and I heard a little urp, as I looked down at him I couldn't believe what I saw, he then projectile vomited what looked and sounded like a gallon of formula all over the bathroom floor.
My first thought was, where was he keeping all of that? But then I realized that I was going to have to clean it up, and for the first time in my list making life, I was glad that I hadn't completed this task yet, mind you I had been putting it off for days already. As Harrison and Gwen laughed at what had just happened, I let out a sigh of relief that I was only going to have to clean the floor once that day.

at least you gave the floor a spit shine!!
I'm a list person too. I have lists all over the kitchen. I can't say I get too many of the "to do" items crossed off, but I try. I'm sorry Harrison is a spitter upper. At least he emptied on the bathroom floor and not the carpet. Poor Kaitlin was sick in the night. I heard her a few times, but she wasn't even awake for 5 minutes so I didn't check on her until 5:30 this morning and the poor little thing had been sleeping in yuckyness. I felt so bad! I got her cleaned up, fed again and back to sleep in the swing while the bedding washed. I crawled back in to bed, closed my eyes and not 15 minutes later Eric was awake and ready for breakfast. I hope everyone is on the same napping schedule today because I have a feeling that come lunch time I will be very tired and grouchy!
how fortuitous! I knew we were bosom buddies, i too am an insane list maker. In fact as I'm sitting here on my lunch break I have my list in front of me and I'm crossing things off. That's the only way that I can keep myself from crumpling into a ball on the floor and crying because I'm so overwhelmed (believe me, it's happened before. .. I'm not good with stress). Anyway, my to-do list is 3 pages long... Hope yours is shorter and more fun than mine.
Oh man, that reminds me of Lindsey. She used to do that up until she was ten months old. It was sick!
I like when I make lists. I don't do it often though. Thanks for reminding me that it's a good way to get things done.
Oh that brings me back to the projectile vomiting days of the twins...I remember I would slip on it all the time because of our wood floor! At least it made for easy clean-up! And now to-do lists, is that the secret to your organization? I really think you should give lessons. :)
