sicky Sunday

Saturday night James and I took turns getting up with Harrison who had a icky cough, then on Sunday it was like the sickies went airborne. By Monday we had all been in the same situation as Harrison, and James even stayed home from work. But none of that could stop us from trying a new place from the burger list. So this weekend we went to Mighty Fine Burgers. It is a place that is actually owned by Rudy's. (a BBQ eatery)
You can see that it is set up the same as the BBQ place, behind Gwen you enter and order, and you can watch them make they burgers and prepare the fries, then while you wait for your food you fill up your drinks and have a seat in the very open and contemporary picnic tables until your name is called.
I thought that burgers were good, but overall it was just your classic all American burger place. One of the things that I didn't really like was that you have to order everything ala carte. So your burger is one price, then you pay another price for fries, and a drink, and if you want certain toppings. So by the time you have a little meal it is a bit more expensive than other places that we have tried. But it is still a fun place to try. But I am still going to go with Phil's as my top place so far.

As for the sick kids it has been pretty typical, whining and cranky, but now they are back to bouncing off the couches. James is still feeling some effects and I have no voice?, but at least we are all sleeping at night again. I don't like being sick, but I dislike having the kids sick more.

I was sick too. How weird that we would be sick with, it sounds like, the same thing, just different States! I was lucky, Brent wasn't sick and he took care of me. Sick kids are very difficult, especially when oneself feels awful! Glad you are better and Phil's rules as #1.

I completely agree with you that it is no fun being sick but having sick kids is even worse. I'm glad you're feeling better.

Hey guys, looks like your summer is going great! Well apart from the being sick and all. Seems to be going around like crazy. I thought that we were suppose to get a break in the summer from the colds and flus. I don't think that they got the memo.

Oh dear, it sounds like the same virus we had. I agree, there is nothing worse than sick kids, but even worse is when you get it. At least you made it to Mighty Fine Burgers, I'm assuming the wait wasn't as long this time? How convenient James is trying out all these new restaurants and all we have to do is sit back and hear the review! I hope you are all feeling better and your voice comes back! I think Ryan is going through James withdrawals already.

Mmmm, burgers. The "sickness" must have made it's way over here. We just got over it ourselves.

Lonna, I'm so glad you are getting better. It was great to talk with you, it does seem like a long time since we saw you, but the kids are getting so big and I can't believe that Harrison, what a cutie. Stay better and have a great week. I always said,"I'd rather have seven sick kids than one sick husband. Love mom

That's one of the issues I have with Rudy's...I don't think they are priced very competitively. It's good, but they're charging too much, IMHO. Where is that burger place, by the way?

Okay, the sick part was yucky, glad you are feeling better. I'm glad you had a chance to try Mighty Fine Burgers..did you ask the cashier how he was doing? And have him reply, "Mighty-fine, how 'bout you?" Only in Austin!
