in honor of spring

This first picture is for Becky and Ryan. When they were here last week we saw some squirrels resting in funny positions, I thought this might make them laugh. If you can even see it.

And next we have some things that I really like about the spring time. First off playing outside with dad after dinner...because it is still light outside and dad is just more fun I think. Everyone is in the sand volleyball court, which is like our own private soft sand beach...so I tell myself.
James helps Gwen to cover up her feet.
Ta-da the missing foot appears.
so lets do it again.
Harrison tries to uncover his foot before realizing that he can just step out of it. Good work Harrison. He was a tricky one to get to stay in one spot. Are you surprised? I'm not.

Then there is another thing that I really like about having spring around, this tree that is right outside of our patio, and it smells sooooo good. *sigh* I do love spring.

In addition to fun outside and sunny weather and nature springing forth, I also love that my favorite ice cream flavor is now back on the shelves (birthday cake, made by Blue Bell), I am wearing my favorite shorts, and the summer kids clothes are out and oh so very cute. Spring dresses and little sandals and flip flops for the kids, thanks spring for coming our way.

Yeah Spring! Come stay in Mt Pleasant for a while, instead of a week! At least this week it is in the 60's and the buds are swelling. We'll just enjoy it while we have it, cause it won't be here long! Way to go James, I am glad you made the feet appear! That is the start of Dad made you all think he is the smartest man alive. You are now on the path.

I'm so jealous of your spring weather! We're still wearing turtlenecks here in WI. Yuck.

spring is the best. this is why we live in texas. I won't be able to say the same thing come summer, but for now, we are totally enjoying the weather!

I am praying that this spring weather lasts a VERY long time, because even though I look forward to pool season, I do not look forward to hauling around an extra 50 lbs. in miserable heat (especially since my not-so-tiny-one-year-old insists upon being carried).

Also, I loved the post about poor little Gwen. She is more brave than I am, I hate the dentist and make a point to avoid it like the plague, though my children do go religiously. Hmmm, sometimes mom's don't exercise good judgement when it comes to taking care of themselves!

Oh, and lastly, Jackie and I decided that we really hope you find a reliable method of transportation for James because we have decided that we need you to have your minivan so we can all play this summer and go to parks and pools! MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!

What nice weather you have. I would love to live in TX in the spring. We woke up to snow this morning. I looked out the window and almost cried.

I love the weather these days for the most part. How nice that you guys have your own private sandy beach. My girls would love that. Can't wait to come up there in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the squirrel picture! I so wish I had gotten one of the squirrel at Zilker Park. How are Gwen's lips doing?! A
Ah spring. Music to my ears...if only it would come here and stay. We had some really nice days and then woke up to several inches of snow.

Austin gets spring after all, who knew? Not that the 70's was winter, really. But yet there is a marked sense of everything and everyone waking up these days.
I love those family days out enjoying the weather. If my kids had a sandbox, I'd never see them again...Though I would see the sand everywhere and all over.
I am going to be on the lookout for a new pair of shorts like yours, I think they are absolutely perfect for this weather. I think a girls shopping day is long overdue, not to mention soon the guys can bring the kids to the pool fully clothed...then maybe drop them into the sandbox dripping wet while they're at it. Yes we will get our kids back petrified but happy. You know I'm praying my kiddos get that Barlow creativity. :)
Can't wait to smell the tree on your balcony...Happy Spring!!

Yes Happy Spring!! Even in Logan we can see signs of Spring, the grass is greening, the trees have little pussy willow buds and we even have crocuses blooming through the occasional morning snow. But afternoons are still pretty warm and of course it is still March and that means crazy mixed up weather. I too love spring and I'm really glad for the warmer weather. "Not quite the spring of Austin but very much the beginnings of spring in the mountains. Love the Dattages.
