the sand trap

There is nothing quite like a sandbox, or in our case the sand volleyball court. During the day it is always open and ready for some sand castle fun. On Monday we had some friends come and help us try out the sand toys just to make sure that they worked.
Gwen and Katelin dominated the shovels, but throughout the afternoon they made (pretend) yummy things to eat, and sand creatures as well as a few castles too. Harrison and Seth took a little time to warm up to the sand pit, but in the end there were no clean feet or hands in sight.
I love to see these two girls play together, they come up with some of the most interesting things to "talk" about, and even though they may have a disagreement here or there they have plenty of giggles and fake laughs to round it all out. Tonight James and I took the kids back down to the sand pit and we were bugged because there was an actual game of volleyball going on, I know that is what it is really supposed to be used for, but for the last few months we have had it all to ourselves, and I guess the volleyball team didn't get the memo that we had turned it into a sandbox for kids. Well at least it is always open for us to use during the day, maybe we will stick to those hours for now.

Wow-swimming pools and sandboxes in April? We should really look into moving to Texas. What cute kids, I always enjoy "seeing" what you guys are up to.

I agree with Kadee- let's move to Texas! We had snow and rain today. I dislike Utah in the "spring." You asked about Eric's golden egg- it had a scripture verse it in. It was the activities committee's idea of putting a spiritual message into an egg hunt. All the kids were disappointed with the golden eggs.

I would have loved to listen to their conversation! A sand box is almost as wonderful as an actual beach! Did I mention we woke up to 5 inches of snow this morning????

You should have sent Harry in to take out the volley ball players.

oh geez, the weather there looks like a little slice of heaven. I'm with Kadee, I'm ready to move to Austin. (notice I didn't say Texas. I wouldn't want to live just anywhere in Texas, only Austin)

Isn't it great the things that can entertain kids for hours... You get the 'Best Mom' award. I'm calling you for ideas as soon as Hazel is old enough to need entertaining

P.S. When are you coming to logan for a visit??

Well, well, looks pretty fun down there. But the sun did come out this afternoon, which was very welcome. We may have to get a baler though we fertilized the grass just before all this wet weather, so we hope it will dry out so that we can mow. Things are looking up, spring is on its way for sure now. I can't wait to utilize all that energy of Gwen and Harry when you finally come to Utah. By the way we are still waiting for hair pictures.
